Under The Olive Tree

One More Hour

Help us hold on one more hour!

Came the labored, desperate cry

This night’s battle’s vanquished power

Waiting for the next attack

Still no thought of turning back

In the trenches here we lie.

Help us hold the line this night!

Tattered, drawn to utmost measure

No relief but still we fight

Comrades perished, others lost

Everything we are the cost

Victory our only treasure.

Jesus help us, we implore,

Break this darkness, send the light

We can’t see Thee anymore

As before Thee, armour shining!

Our commission!  Banners flying!

Now we fight on through the night!

Help us hold on ’til the dawning

Holding fast to the foundation

As those watching for the morning

We endure the dark around us

Here we stand ’til faith has found us

Glorious Victory!  Full Salvation!
