Refugees

By BBennettJ • May 29th, 2008 • Category: Poems

Refugees
Bowing their heads as they go
Shoulders drooped
Discouraged
Tattered
Empty and stressed
Looking for something to save them
Longing for peace
Longing for rest
Battling out of the swift pollution
Crawling up on the shore
Bound for chains and slavery
Bound to suffer more
If only I could save them
There’s no choice but passing on
The time of escape from the horror
Slipped away and is gone
Men and [...]

Let’s Have a Reality Check

Let’s Have a Reality Check
When I started this blog I had no intention of commenting on politics, and I will attempt to refrain from doing so. Politics is a business that I have no stomach for, and as such know little about - other than my nauseous reaction to it. However, when “The [...]

The Fool

By BBennettJ • May 25th, 2008 • Category: Poems

The Fool
Twas then that I began
To play the fool
For all reason was abandoned
Good and Evil were embraced

So answer not the fool
Lest thou be just like him
For folly has an end
As the darkness yields to dawn
The sun will rise
The seeds will grow
We’ll reap a mighty harvest
Then we will be moving on

A fool to be a pilgrim?
You’re [...]

Is Everything a Money Game?

HAVE you driven past a Casino recently? Know anyone personally who has won the Lottery - or even the scratch lottery? Been chasin’ anything lately? How is your pocket change? And your family?
HOW about the place you call home? And your neighbors - how are they? [...]

In Honor of a Mother

In Honor of a Mother
I am in complete awe of this mother’s power to communicate her situation - for she not only understands, she can teach it to you.
Be sure you read the whole letter - in real humility.
Then - your life can change.
Before you begin reading ask yourself this question. If I no [...]

Read if you Dare!

By BBennettJ • May 21st, 2008 • Category: Observations

I have put the links to two sites below concerning the religious persecution that is taking place in Texas. Read them if you dare.
It makes little difference if there was a crime committed in this community - I challenge you to find children as well care for as these. Look at their faces - these [...]

Isolation with Indulgence

Isolation with Indulgence
Our modern prison system
When it comes to the point that you have to lock up your fellow man to protect yourself from him - and to protect him from you - and all the most well equipped standard bearers standing armed in the public square are mercenaries - and your prophets and priests [...]

The North Central Iowa Thinkers Society

I belong to he North Central Iowa Thinkers Society (NCITS) - however, I am presently the only member. I believe that there are others about who are thinking - but as of this writing they have not been asked to join - nor have they inquired about membership. [...]

When the Lights Go Out

When the Lights Go Out

It is beginning to look like we are in a nuthouse - that is being run by the inmates - the psycho ward. We call it accepting diversity.

The problem with doublespeak - or could we say ’speaking with a forked tongue’; is not that we tend to accept atrocities [...]
